Troy Alves Then

Troy Alves was born on June 15, 1973 in San Leandro, California. He began lifting weights at the age of 14 and quickly developed a passion for bodybuilding. Alves competed in his first bodybuilding competition in 1993 and won the Teenage California Championships. He went on to win the NPC USA Championships in 1998 and earned his IFBB Pro Card.

Alves made his IFBB Pro debut at the 2000 Night of Champions competition and placed 11th. He competed in the Mr. Olympia competition for the first time in 2002 and placed 15th. Alves continued to compete in the Mr. Olympia competition for the next several years, with his best placing being 9th in 2006.

In addition to his bodybuilding career, Alves has also worked as a personal trainer and nutritionist. He has also appeared in several fitness magazines and DVDs.

Alves is married and has two children. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
