Tom Hanks has been married twice in his life. His first marriage was to Samantha Lewes, from January 24, 1978, until their divorce on March 19, 1987. 

They had two children together, Colin Hanks and Elizabeth Hanks. Following his divorce from Lewes, Hanks married Rita Wilson on April 30, 1988.
