Rody Exume was born on March 12, 1986, in Miami, Florida. He is the son of Haitian immigrants and has two older brothers.

Exume began lifting weights at the age of 15, and quickly discovered a passion for bodybuilding. He competed in his first bodybuilding show at the age of 18, and won his first overall title at the age of 19.

Exume went on to have a successful bodybuilding career, winning numerous titles, including the 2007 NPC USA Championships and the 2008 IFBB North American Championships.
