Peter Hensel was born on July 23, 1974, in Germany. He began bodybuilding at the age of 16, and quickly rose through the ranks of the sport. In 2005, he won the Mr. Germany title, and in 2008, he won the IFBB World Amateur Championships. Hensel has also competed in the Mr. Olympia competition, where he placed 11th in 2009 and 10th in 2010.
