Glenn Pendlay Then

Glenn Pendlay was born on November 24, 1970, in McPherson, Kansas. He began lifting weights at the age of 14, and quickly developed a passion for the sport. Pendlay competed in his first powerlifting meet at the age of 18, and went on to win numerous national and international titles.

In 2004, Pendlay founded the Pendlay Weightlifting Club in Wichita, Kansas. The club has produced a number of successful weightlifters, including Olympians Kendrick Farris and Sarah Robles.

Pendlay is also a certified strength and conditioning coach and has worked with a variety of athletes, including members of the NFL, MLB, and NBA.

2000 USAPL National Powerlifting Championships: 1st place, 123 kg class

Life History

Pendlay is married to fellow weightlifter Angela Pendlay. The couple has two children.

In 2011, Pendlay was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called liposarcoma. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy, and is now cancer-free.

Pendlay continues to operate the Pendlay Weightlifting Club, and also offers online coaching. He is also a popular speaker and writer on the topic of strength training.

Pendlay is a respected figure in the weightlifting community, and is known for his passion for the sport and his commitment to helping others achieve their fitness goals.
