Tom Platz Then
Tom Platz was born in 1955 in Joliet, Illinois. He began lifting weights at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the sport.
Platz won the Mr. Universe title in 1981 and the Mr. Olympia title in 1985. He retired from bodybuilding in 1995 and now lives in Florida.

Life History
Platz was born into a working-class family in Joliet, Illinois. He was the youngest of five children. His father was a steelworker and his mother was a homemaker.
Platz began lifting weights at the age of 15. He quickly developed a passion for the sport and began competing in bodybuilding competitions.
In 1981, he won the Mr. Universe title. Four years later, he won the Mr. Olympia title. Platz retired from bodybuilding in 1995 and now lives in Florida.

Platz is now retired from bodybuilding and lives in Florida. He is still active in the fitness industry and works as a personal trainer and nutritionist.
He also makes regular appearances at bodybuilding events and seminars.
