Paul George was born on May 2, 1990, in Palmdale, California. He began playing basketball at an early age and quickly developed a reputation as a talented player. George attended Knight High School in Palmdale, where he was a standout player. He led the team to two CIF Southern Section Division I championships and was named the California Gatorade Player of the Year in 2008.
After graduating from high school, George attended Fresno State University. He played two seasons for the Bulldogs, averaging 16.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. George was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference First Team both seasons. In 2010, he declared for the NBA draft.
George was selected 10th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2010 NBA draft. He quickly became a key player for the Pacers, averaging 12.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in his rookie season. George continued to improve in his second season, averaging 17.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He was named to the All-NBA Second Team and helped the Pacers reach the Eastern Conference Finals.
George had a breakout season in 2012-13, averaging 18.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. He was named to the All-NBA Third Team and helped the Pacers reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the second consecutive year. George was named the NBA Most Improved Player in 2013.
George continued to be a key player for the Pacers in the following seasons. He averaged 19.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in 2013-14 and 21.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in 2014-15. George was named to the All-NBA Second Team in both seasons.
In 2017, George was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He averaged 21.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game in his first season with the Thunder. George was named to the All-NBA Third Team and helped the Thunder reach the Western Conference Finals.
In 2019, George was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged 24.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game in his first season with the Clippers. George was named to the All-NBA Third Team and helped the Clippers reach the Western Conference Semifinals.
George is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and defend at a high level. He is one of the best players in the NBA and is a key part of the Clippers’ success.
