Leif Hollander was born on June 1, 1964, in Ghent, Belgium. He began weightlifting at the age of 16, and quickly developed a passion for the sport. In 1984, he won the Belgian Junior Bodybuilding Championships, and in 1986, he won the Belgian National Bodybuilding Championships.

Hollander turned professional in 1988, and quickly rose through the ranks. In 1989, he won the World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships, and in 1990, he won the IFBB Mr. Olympia title. He held the Mr. Olympia title for three consecutive years, from 1990 to 1992.

Hollander retired from professional bodybuilding in 1994, and has since worked as a fitness model, personal trainer, and actor. He has also appeared in several fitness and bodybuilding magazines.

Hollander is married to former fitness model Monica Brant, and they have two children.
