Darrem Charles was born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 26, 1963. He began lifting weights at the age of 13, and by the time he was 18, he had won the Teenage Mr. America competition. Charles went on to have a successful bodybuilding career, winning the Mr. Olympia title in 1992 and 1993. He also won the Arnold Classic in 1994 and 1995.

Charles’s family background is unknown. He has never publicly discussed his parents or siblings. However, it is known that he has a son, Darrem Charles Jr., who is also a bodybuilder.

Competitive History

Charles began competing in bodybuilding competitions in the early 1980s. He quickly rose through the ranks, winning the Teenage Mr. America competition in 1981. Charles continued to compete in bodybuilding competitions throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, winning numerous titles, including the Mr. Olympia title in 1992 and 1993. He also won the Arnold Classic in 1994 and 1995.

Charles retired from bodybuilding competition in 1998. He has since been inducted into the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Hall of Fame.

Life History

After retiring from bodybuilding competition, Charles worked as a personal trainer and fitness consultant. He also appeared in several bodybuilding magazines and videos. In 2008, Charles was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He underwent surgery and radiation therapy, and he is now cancer-free.

Charles is married to his wife, Karen. They have one son, Darrem Charles Jr.
