Bill Davey was born in 1960 in New York City. He began bodybuilding at the age of 16, and quickly developed a passion for the sport. In 1980, he won the Mr. New York State title, and in 1981, he won the Mr. USA title. In 1982, he competed in his first Mr. Olympia competition, and finished 10th. He continued to compete in bodybuilding competitions throughout the 1980s, and achieved great success. He won the Mr. Olympia title twice, in 1986 and 1987. He also won the Arnold Classic four times, in 1983, 1984, 1986, and 1987. Davey retired from bodybuilding in 1990.
