Bruce Randall was born on August 17, 1931, in Boston, Massachusetts. He began lifting weights at the age of 15 and quickly developed a passion for bodybuilding. By the age of 20, he had won several local and regional bodybuilding competitions. In 1985, he won the Mr. America title, and in 1986, he won the Mr. Universe title.

Randall’s bodybuilding career was cut short in 1987 when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. He underwent several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, but the cancer eventually returned. In 1990, he had his left leg amputated below the knee.

Despite his disability, Randall continued to train and compete. He won the Mr. Disabled America title in 1991 and 1992. He also competed in the Paralympics in 1992 and 1996, winning a bronze medal in the powerlifting competition.
