Laron Landry was born on June 30, 1989, in White Castle, Louisiana. He began his football career at White Castle High School, where he was a standout player on both offense and defense. Landry was named the Louisiana Class 1A Player of the Year in 2006 and was recruited by several major college football programs.

Landry chose to attend Louisiana State University (LSU), where he played for the Tigers from 2007 to 2010. He was a three-year starter at safety for LSU and was named a first-team All-American in 2009. Landry also won the Jim Thorpe Award, which is given to the nation’s best defensive back, in 2009.

Landry was drafted by the New York Jets with the sixth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He played for the Jets for four seasons before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2015. Landry played for the Colts for two seasons before being released in 2017.
