Oleg Zhur was born in Minsk, Belarus, on January 18, 1967. He began weightlifting at the age of 15, and quickly developed a passion for the sport. In 1988, he won the prestigious Mr. Universe title, becoming the first Soviet citizen to do so. Zhur continued to compete successfully throughout the 1990s, winning numerous titles, including the Mr. Olympia title in 1998.

Zhur retired from competitive bodybuilding in 2001, but he has remained active in the sport as a coach and promoter. He is also the founder of the Oleg Zhur International Bodybuilding Federation.

Zhur is married to Irina and has two children, a son named Nikita and a daughter named Alina.

Competitive History

Oleg Zhur’s competitive history is one of the most successful in bodybuilding. He won the Mr. Universe title in 1988, becoming the first Soviet citizen to do so. He also won the Mr. Olympia title in 1998, making him one of only a few bodybuilders to have won both titles.
