Tanji Johnson Then
Tanji Johnson was born in 1972 in Los Angeles, California. She began lifting weights at a young age and quickly developed a passion for bodybuilding. In 1994, she entered her first bodybuilding competition and won her class. She continued to compete and win throughout the 1990s, eventually earning her pro card in 2000.
As a professional bodybuilder, Johnson competed in numerous competitions and won several titles, including the NPC USA Championships (2001), the NPC Nationals (2002), and the IFBB New York Pro (2003). She also placed in the top 10 at the Ms. Olympia competition several times.
Johnson’s bodybuilding career was cut short in 2005 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy and chemotherapy, and was forced to retire from competition. However, she remained active in the bodybuilding community, working as a personal trainer and nutritionist.

Tanji Johnson Now
After retiring from competition, Johnson continued to work as a personal trainer and nutritionist. She also became a motivational speaker, sharing her story of overcoming breast cancer and achieving her fitness goals. In 2010, she founded the Tanji Johnson Foundation, which provides support and resources to women who are battling breast cancer.
Johnson is an inspiration to many people, both inside and outside of the bodybuilding community. She is a strong and determined woman who has overcome adversity and achieved great things. She is a role model for women everywhere, showing that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
