Samir Bannout was born on November 7, 1955, in Lebanon. He began lifting weights at the age of 15 and quickly developed a passion for bodybuilding. In 1979, he won the Mr. Lebanon title and turned professional the following year.

Bannout competed in the IFBB for over a decade, winning numerous titles, including the Mr. Universe title in 1983 and the Mr. Olympia title in 1983 and 1984. He was known for his incredible muscularity and symmetry, and he was considered one of the best bodybuilders in the world during his era.

Bannout retired from bodybuilding in 1993 and has since worked as a personal trainer and nutritionist. He is also the author of several books on bodybuilding and fitness.
