Mark Harris was born on January 1, 1960, in Los Angeles, California. He began lifting weights at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the sport. Harris competed in his first bodybuilding competition in 1980 and quickly rose through the ranks. He won the Mr. America title in 1984 and the Mr. Olympia title in 1985.

Harris retired from competitive bodybuilding in 1990 but continued to train and stay in shape. He has since appeared in numerous fitness magazines and has authored several books on bodybuilding. Harris is also a successful businessman and motivational speaker.
