Kamal Elgargni was born on November 21, 1971 , in Tripoli, Libya. He began weightlifting at the age of 14, and by the age of 18, he had won the Mr. Alexandria title. In 1983, he moved to the United States to pursue his bodybuilding career. He quickly made a name for himself, winning the Mr. USA title in 1984 and the Mr. Universe title in 1985. In 1991, he won the Mr. Olympia title for the first time, and he repeated as champion in 1992. Elgargni retired from bodybuilding in 1993, but he has remained active in the fitness industry as an actor, author, and motivational speaker.
