Helmut Riedmeier was born on February 7, 1963 in Augsburg, Germany. He began weightlifting at the age of 16, and quickly developed a passion for the sport. In 1985, he won the German Junior Championships, and in 1986, he won the German National Championships. Riedmeier’s success continued at the international level, and he won the European Championships in 1989 and 1990. He also competed in the Mr. Olympia competition, placing 4th in 1990 and 3rd in 1991.
Riedmeier retired from competitive bodybuilding in 1992, but he continued to train and stay in shape. He has also worked as a personal trainer and nutritionist, and he has written several books on bodybuilding and fitness. Riedmeier is married and has two children.
