Gaétan D’Amours Then
Gaétan D’Amours was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on October 1, 1953. He began lifting weights at the age of 16, and quickly developed a passion for the sport. D’Amours won his first bodybuilding competition in 1974, and went on to win numerous titles throughout his career, including the Mr. Canada title in 1979, the Mr. Universe title in 1981, and the Mr. Olympia title in 1982.
D’Amours retired from competitive bodybuilding in 1985, but he remained involved in the sport as a coach and trainer. He also founded his own supplements company, D’Amours Nutrition. D’Amours is married to his wife, Francine, and they have two children.
