Rhino Then

Rhino, whose real name is Terrance Guido Gerin, was born on October 7, 1975, in Detroit, Michigan. 

With a background deeply rooted in Italian heritage, specifically Venetian, Rhino’s upbringing in the Detroit area shaped much of his early life. 

He attended Annapolis High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, where he was an active member of the wrestling team. 

This involvement in wrestling played a crucial role in his development and future career.

After high school, Rhino’s wrestling skills and ambitions led him to further training in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. 

This period of intense training helped him refine his techniques and prepare for his professional career in the wrestling industry. 

His strong work ethic and dedication during these formative years laid the foundation for his successful career as a professional wrestler.

Rhino Wrestling Career

Gerin began his wrestling career under the ring name Rhino Richards in the Canadian independent circuit, making a name for himself with his powerful presence and aggressive style. 

His journey took a significant turn in 1999 when he signed with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), adopting the streamlined name Rhino. 

During his tenure with ECW, Rhino quickly established himself as a formidable competitor, capturing both the World Heavyweight and World Television Championships.

His tenure with ECW was marked by intense matches and high-profile feuds, but it came to an end when the promotion closed its doors in 2001.

Following ECW’s closure, Rhino transitioned to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which was soon to be rebranded as WWE. 

His arrival was part of a broader angle known as the Invasion, where ECW and WCW wrestlers united against WWF’s roster. 

Rhino, now wrestling under the simplified name Rhyno, was integrated into several high-profile storylines and matches.

However, his time with WWE was relatively short-lived, as he departed the company in 2005.

Rhyno’s next major move was to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where he achieved considerable success. 

In TNA, Rhyno captured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Jeff Jarrett, a significant milestone in his career. 

Though he lost the title just two days later, Rhyno remained an influential figure in TNA until his departure in 2010.

In 2015, Rhyno made a notable return to WWE, this time working in NXT, WWE’s developmental territory. 

His impressive performance in NXT led to his promotion to the main roster in December of the same year. 

On SmackDown, he formed a tag team with Heath Slater, and together they won a tournament to become the inaugural SmackDown Tag Team Champions. This successful run was a highlight of his WWE career. 

However, Rhyno’s stint with WWE was again cut short when he left the company in 2019 and made a return to TNA, continuing his wrestling career and maintaining his status as a prominent figure in the industry.
