Gregg Avedon was born on August 25, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York. He began lifting weights at the age of 15, and by the age of 18 he had won his first bodybuilding competition. Avedon went on to win numerous bodybuilding titles, including the Mr. America title in 1983.
After retiring from competitive bodybuilding, Avedon began working as a personal trainer. He has trained a number of celebrities, including Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and David Beckham. Avedon is also the founder of the gym A-Squared in New York City.
