Early Life and Bodybuilding Career
Dr. Layne Norton was born on December 31, 1983, in Rochester, New York. He began lifting weights at the age of 14 and quickly developed a passion for bodybuilding. After graduating from high school, Norton attended the University of Central Florida, where he earned a degree in exercise science.
Norton began competing in bodybuilding competitions in 2003. He quickly rose through the ranks, winning the NPC Collegiate National Championships in 2005 and the NPC USA Championships in 2006. In 2008, Norton made his professional debut at the IFBB New York Pro and finished in 10th place.

Norton is married to Rachel Norton, a registered dietitian and nutritionist. The couple has three children. Norton has been open about his struggles with mental health, including depression and anxiety. He has also spoken out against the use of performance-enhancing drugs in bodybuilding.
