Reg Park was born on June 7, 1928, in Leeds, United Kingdom. He started bodybuilding at the age of 16 after being inspired by the physique of Steve Reeves. In 1949, he won the Mr. Britain title at the age of 21. In 1951, he won the Mr. Europe title, and in 1958, he won the Mr. Universe title. Park was known for his massive muscles and perfect symmetry, and he was a pioneer in the use of heavy weights and high-intensity training.
Park also had a successful acting career, appearing in several films, including Hercules (1958), Hercules Unchained (1959), and Goliath and the Barbarians (1960). He also had a role in the James Bond film Goldfinger (1964). Park retired from bodybuilding in 1965 but continued to act until 1973.
Park was married twice and had two children. He died in 2007 at the age of 79.
