Michael Fassbender was born on April 2, 1977, in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, West Germany. 

His multicultural background is reflected in his heritage, with an Irish mother named Adele and a German father named Josef. 

Josef worked as a chef and, together with Adele, ran the West End House restaurant. When Michael was just two years old, the family relocated to Killarney, Ireland. 

This move deeply influenced Michael’s upbringing as he was raised in the Irish culture and the Catholic faith, along with his older sister, Catherine.
