Marko Savolainen was born on February 19, 1974, in Helsinki, Finland. He began lifting weights at the age of 15, and quickly developed a passion for bodybuilding. Savolainen won his first bodybuilding competition in 1994, and turned professional in 1999.
Savolainen’s professional bodybuilding career was marked by both success and setbacks. He won the IFBB Mr. Olympia title in 2007, becoming the first Finnish bodybuilder to win the prestigious title. However, Savolainen also struggled with injuries and health problems throughout his career.
