Mark Alvisi Then
Mark Alvisi was born on March 15, 1964, in Boston, Massachusetts. He began lifting weights at the age of 14 and quickly developed a passion for bodybuilding. Alvisi competed in his first bodybuilding competition in 1984 and won the overall title. He went on to win numerous other competitions, including the NPC National Bodybuilding Championships in 1988 and the IFBB Mr. Olympia in 1990.
Alvisi’s bodybuilding career was cut short in 1992 when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy and was able to recover from the illness. Alvisi returned to bodybuilding in 1994 and competed in several more competitions before retiring in 2000.
Alvisi is married and has two children. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
