Horst Fuchs was born on January 11, 1949, in Hamburg, Germany. He began weightlifting at the age of 16 and quickly developed a passion for the sport. In 1972, he won the German Junior Bodybuilding Championship and went on to win the German National Bodybuilding Championship in 1974.

In 1975, Fuchs won the Mr. Universe title, becoming the first German to win the prestigious title. He went on to win the Mr. Olympia title in 1980, becoming the second German to win the title after Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Fuchs retired from competitive bodybuilding in 1984 and returned to Germany. He now lives in Bavaria with his wife and two children.

Life History
