Flex Lewis was born on November 15, 1983, in Llanelli, United Kingdom. He began bodybuilding at the age of 16 and quickly rose through the ranks. In 2006, he won the British Bodybuilding Championship and the following year he won the NPC USA Bodybuilding Championship. In 2008, he made his IFBB Pro debut and won the IFBB New York Pro Bodybuilding Championship.

Lewis continued to compete throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, winning numerous titles including the Arnold Classic Europe in 2012 and 2013 and the Mr. Olympia 212 Showdown in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

In addition to his bodybuilding career, Lewis has also appeared in several movies and television shows. He is married to Amanda Lewis and they have two children together.
