Elizabeth Banks, originally named Elizabeth Maresal Mitchell, was born on February 10, 1974, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

However, there was already an Elizabeth Mitchell on the SAG roster, which led her to adopt the stage name we know today, Elizabeth Banks.

Elizabeth Banks’ Personal Life

Elizabeth Banks married film producer and sportswriter Max Handelman on July 5, 2003. 

The couple met on their first day at the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and have been together ever since, supporting each other through their respective careers in the entertainment industry. 

Their partnership extends beyond their personal life, as they co-founded Brownstone Productions, a film and television production company, in 2002.
