Bruce Patterson was born on February 24, 1961, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He began lifting weights at the age of 16, and by the time he was 19, he had won the Mr. Canada title. Patterson went on to win the Mr. Universe title in 1980 and 1981, and the Mr. Olympia title in 1981 and 1983. He is considered one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time.
Patterson was known for his massive size and muscularity. He was also known for his intense training regimen, which included lifting weights for up to six hours a day. Patterson retired from bodybuilding in 1985, but he has remained active in the sport as a coach and mentor.
Patterson is married to his wife, Brenda, and they have two children. He currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
